I was inspired by figure 3b on page 6 of Wong’s (1972) book Principles of two-dimensional design. For the description, Wong writes, “The position of a shape is judged by its relationship to the frame or the structure” (p. 8). norimaki in a jyubako

I wanted to create a pattern that looked like norimaki (sushi rolls) in a jyubako (bento box). I don’t think this is apparent without the explanation.
